Our Story

During their senior thesis production of Much Ado About Nothing, Mika Litton was encouraged by friends to take their producing ambitions and transform them into their very own theatre group. Inspired by their own stubborn nature and new theatrical works, The Talkback Theatre was born.

With goals to challenge the idea of traditional casting and make theatre more accessible to the average person, they wanted to create and foster a community where there is always equal opportunity fueled by the passion of creating and working together.

Now operating in the New Orleans area, they strive to produce classical pieces and out-of-the-box new works, all while having fun with their friends.

Our Mission

Our goal is to create theatre that is both inviting and accessible to all, both creatives and audiences alike.

Through non-traditional casting, we strive to showcase talent rather than "the look" of a character. With pay-what-you-can ticket prices, we sell shows that cost as much or as little as the average person can afford.

We want to pave the way for new thinking in an industry that can still hold a very traditional mindset.

It's may not be revolutionary, but it's what we love to do.
